July 30, 2010 MIC HARRISON & THE HIGH SCORE

Country Music from Knoxville,TN

Music that anyone who’s ever held down a job and relied on music for spiritual release can relate to.
Harrison’s new album “On The Right Side of The Grass” is about the kind of characters who know that any day that you can look forward to a soft bed rather than a dirt nap is a blessing. When Harrison sings about having nothing but “a pocket full of sawdust” the former sawmill employee knows exactly …what he’s singing about. The subject of “He Gets High” is that guy everyone has worked with at least once: the man who “never missed a day of work” and never spent a day completely sober either — “he gets high, but he gets by.”

Don’t forget about our $1.50 Bud Light Special on Sundays and our $1 PBR Special on Mondays!

July 21, 2010 OPEN MIC NIGHT

Our weekly Open Mic event featuring by our awesome MC David Bryan. Come and get your chance to perform on the Town Pump stage, Black Mountain’s oldest tavern. The festivities begin each week at 8:30 pm. Bring your voice, instruments or just your dancing shoes. Support local music and local BEER!

July 22, 2010 JOSH EAGLE & THE HARVEST CITY

Coming to the stage Thursday night at 8:30 pm Josh Eagle and The Harvest City are a community of four. Inspired by the days living alive and well and the honest music of then and now. The Southern Ohio natives are the earnest, dutiful craftsmen that are rare to find these days, as all are from varied musical back rounds.

“When Eagle begins finger picking, you can almost instantly pinpoint his musical influences – perhaps best described as a fusion of Neil Young and Nick Dra…ke…with soft, resounding harmonicas that amplify the emotional anguish Eagle experienced.”- Thomas Smith, The News Record

July 23, 2010 L SHAPE LOT

Friday at 8:30 pm we are proud to welcome L Shape Lot to the Town Pump stage in Black Mountain!
“Their music is a laid-back mix of Americana, a loose blend of folk and bluegrass with rich harmonies. They’ve got a solid body of originals that moves from country sing-alongs and barroom stompers to narrative stories with great hooks. And best of all, they groove together like a band that’s been playing together for years. ” DB – High Country News

July 24, 2010 NED VAN GO

Saturday July 24th Ned Van Go will be rockin’ the house at The Town Pump. This ragged crew of small town rockers is back with their 4th release-“Heartbroke City”. Blending rock, folk, and mountain music, “Heartbroke City” is a record that reeks of angst, bleeds of injustice and heartbreak, and screams for salvation. Inspired by the simple, poignant struggles of the everyman, these are working class songs from a working class band living in a disaffected, commercialized world.
